Four MCP Students Earn Highest Honor

Aug 15, 2017

Four scouts from Troop 6, San Luis Obispo achieved the highest honor awarded by Boy Scouts of America, the rank of Eagle Scout, this summer. They are MCP senior Daniel Svitek, juniors Chris Smith and Charlie Reilly, and sophomore Andrew Church. Each Eagle Scout planned, fund raised and completed a community service project. Andrew repaired the arbor, replaced benches, and built a children's picnic table at the Santa Margarita Public Library. Chris built three structures to shade dogs and trainers at K9 Companions, a local non-profit providing comfort animals to wounded service members. Charlie built an accessible picnic bench for the all-access Imagination Park sponsored by Jack's Helping Hand. Danny built a portable cell phone booster station for emergency use in rural areas.

Only 5 percent of boys entering Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, so please join us in congratulating these young men!
