MCP Men's Golf Team Places 3rd at the Mountain League Finals

Mission College Prep DID IT!  The Royals finished off their regular season with a 3rd place finish at the Mountain League Finals - shooting team record 419.  What a day for golf.  Cool air and strong winds couldn't slow down MCP.  Luke Montoya led the way with a +4 score of 75, followed by Landon Smith's 82, and Augustin Nguyen's 84. But the round of the day goes to Ben Gingerich's personal best score of 87.  Ben's front nine 43 and back nine 44 were both career bests. Great job today.  Ben proved today that you CAN use your putter from off the green.  Frequently putting it close from waaayyy off the green.  If it feels right, go for it!  Our fifth counting score today came from AJ Jepsen who absolutely killed it on 18.  Making his birdie putt in front of an excited MCP cheering section.  Way to battle to the end AJ!

Today's result places Mission in the CIF Central Section Division 2 Championship at Tulare Golf Course on May 10. This will be the final TEAM tournament of the year for the Royals.  A win will make MCP CIF Central Section Division 2 CHAMPIONS.  We can do this men.  For perspective -- last year's Div 2 champions shot a 417.  Keep working hard and you can do it.  Believe it!

For individual players - the top 25 players that shoot an 85 or better at Tulare will qualify for the Section Championship at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield on May 16.  You can do it... Keep the momentum going.
