Class Spotlight: AP Macroeconomics
Ashleigh Watson (MCP class of 2002) was a guest speaker to Mr. Martin’s two sections of AP Macroeconomics students during the first week of the new semester. After graduating from MCP, Ashleigh graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine, majoring in Economics and German, later receiving a Master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. Ashleigh shared her experiences there along with her career in economics at the US Treasury Department, Citigroup and the International Monetary Fund. With child number two on the way, Ashleigh brought along the father of their children, Sergejs Saksonovs who has been at the IMF for over a decade after receiving his PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge. In addition to the students enjoying their insights, the two of them look forward to making this an annual event.
