MCP football goes on the road for the first round of the Division II playoff bracket this afternoon against Lemoore High School. Football has had a historic season and we’re all rooting for our boys to continue that success against Lemoore. Last week against SLO High School, MCP beat SLO 35-7 to culminate a very special regular season. With that win, MCP football claimed the outright Ocean League title, beat SLO for the first time in school history, finished the regular season undefeated and clinched the highest and hardest playoff bracket in program history. MCP football is currently the highest-ranked team from the Central Coast in playoffs and is widely considered to be the best team period on the Central Coast this season. They have won their games by an average of 43 – 7, with 8 of the 9 games featuring defense giving fewer than 8 points.

JV Football finished up the season against SLO High School on Friday and finished the season with an 8-1 record and also won the JV Ocean League Title outright, blowing out almost every team they played this year. JV football dealt with a lot of extra adversity with some COVID contact tracing issues at the start of the year but they quickly rebounded to have one of the most successful JV seasons in school history.

MCP football has embodied their motto this year and has been “Uncommon” in every way. Congratulations to all and go get them tonight!

The Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on the 1st & 2nd of November. It is a celebration of life and death which families created 'offerings' to honor their departed. MCP's Spanish classes took part in creating an altar in the Mosaic Lobby to remember the dead.

Basketball & Soccer parents - please attend the Winter Sports Parents Meeting on Monday, November 8th from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Café Royale.

Please join us for the November Parents Association Meeting with Faculty & Staff on Wednesday, November 3rd from 8:30-10:00 AM in the Café Royale. This meeting is a great opportunity to get to know the faculty & staff at MCP and to collaborate with them on fun events like the Christmas Classic, Winter Dance, and much more! We encourage everyone to join us. This is a late start day and your student is welcomed to hangout on campus during the meeting.

We will have a Zoom viewing option available. This will be our first try at the hybrid meeting experience. To be warned… this will not be the best way to participate in this meeting. It will be set up with a view-only option and we will not be answering questions from the Zoom audience. This is designed for those who cannot attend our meetings in person, but would like to hear what is going on. We will do our best, but cannot guarantee the quality of this format. During our break-out section of the meeting, the camera may or may not be moved to a break-out table. I apologize in advance for any tech issues.
