Students who are interested in the sacrament of Confirmation, this Sunday is the first meeting at Mission San Luis Obispo De Tolosa. It is not too late to register. Please click the link and scroll down to the left for the registration information and preparation calendar. This Sunday's class begins at 9AM with mass and is followed with the class in the Annex for 1st year participants, concluding at 11:30AM. For more information, please email Laura Pompa at [email protected]. Confirmation classes are also offered at Nativity of Our Lady, St. Patrick's, St. Rose, and other local Catholic churches. Ask for their program director for more information.

MCP has a fun tradition of asking students and faculty & staff to dress up for Halloween. Included in this fun, at lunch we host a costume contest and rally in the gym. After school from 2:40 to 3:10 we will have trick-or-treating in the hallways. All students who are dressed up are encouraged to participate. Rumor has it that Mr. Susank hands out the LARGE candy bars. Please click the link to view our Halloween Dress Code.

Come Celebrate our amazing Cross Country team at Laguna Golf Course this Saturday at the SLO County Cross Country Meet. Parking will be difficult, so you should show up at 9:30 and park at Laguna Middle School. Leadership students (Sophia Longman, Ella Finch, Ian Stout, and others) will be at the meet walking around the course with 5 boxes of donuts handing them out to anybody in Mission College Prep swag. High School Boys is at - 10:00 & High School Girls is at - 10:30 AM. GO ROYALS!!

MCP seniors, Easton Weir and Ella Blair represented our school at the annual Boys & Girls State conference. They were recognized at the American Legion Awards dinner on October 25th. Congratulations and way to go Royals!

Our new MCP FFA chapter would like to share some exciting news from the last 2 weeks...

The MCP Drama department will be hosting student auditions for -
"The Importance of Being Earnest"
Audition Date: Monday, October 23 at 3PM at the PAC
Requirements: Must come prepared with a memorized monologue- comedy or Dramatic piece of your choice with a British accent.
Call Backs: Wednesday, Oct 25 scene work- sides will be given out- no need to memorize will be a cold reading

Thank you to all Senior families who donated to October's People's Kitchen and the Sophomore students who served. On Saturday, October 14th MCP served almost 100 meals to those in need at the Prado center. This is now a consistent number that has increased since 12 months ago. important! This month we did have to purchase extra food on the day as some donations were missed…please don’t pass up the opportunity to help those in need - this might be the only hot meal that these adults and children enjoy that day. It wouldn’t be possible without the combined effort of all involved - students, parents, coordinators, volunteers and the Prado center...thank you.

MCP students are required to complete community service hours each year. To help our students reach their goals, we are creating an interactive list of local community service opportunities for students on our MCP website. This list will be updated weekly with new opportunities as they arise. This list can be found on the MCP website under the 'Ministry & Service' tab, 'Service'. Scroll towards the bottom of the page for the list. Thank you for sharing your talents with our community.

Cuesta College will be hosting their annual College Night on Monday, Oct 30th from 5:30-8:00 PM at their SLO campus. Representatives from over 40 colleges and universities from across the U.S. will be available to speak with high school students and families about how to make informed decisions about college. Additionally, workshops in both English and Spanish will be held every hour on various college preparation topics: from how to create a powerful application, to athletic recruiting, financial aid procedures and scholarships, dual enrollment, and essay writing. Cuesta College staff will also be on hand to discuss and answer questions about the Cuesta Promise (the scholarship program offering all newly graduated SLO County high school students a fee-free fall and spring semester).
