The MCP Spring Blood Drive is happening on March 27th from 9:00am to 1:15pm in the Gym, and we have 20 open spots left. All students (16 years of age or older), faculty, and families are encouraged to sign up to give blood. Additionally, students can earn a service hour for giving. Donating blood is a good way to help aid our country’s national blood crisis. If you have any questions, feel free to email Samuel Greidanus: [email protected].

MCP campus will be closed effective Thursday, March 9th at 8PM - Saturday, March 11th at 6AM due to weather conditions.

12th Grade Families:
March is “notification” period for the UCs, the CSUs, and almost all colleges with “regular decision” deadlines. Please celebrate each and every acceptance – and remind your senior (and yourself) that a “deny” or “waitlist” is not a personal reflection of them or their efforts. Students (and you) may grieve – that is natural, but don’t let them dwell on the negative, focus on the positives. And, if your student is anxious, there are many good colleges with “rolling admissions” still accepting applications – just contact Ms. Foster to learn more.

MCP's annual Job Fair is coming up on Thursday, March 30th and we are in need of local businesses to offer employment, internship, or volunteer opportunities to our students. For more information please email our Job Fair Coordinator Mary Verdin or administrator Karen Beaudin at [email protected].

On Thursday, March 2nd MCP hosted during FLEX the Job Fair Skills Training. This training was required for all Sophomores to attend. During this training, they learned resume and interviewing tips from HR professionals. All MCP students now have the opportunity to have their resume reviewed and edited by an HR professional. If your MCP student would like to submit their resume for review, please email it to Karen Beaudin at [email protected] by Friday, March 10th. Each student who submits a resume for review will be entered into a drawing to win a $30 gift card. Edited resumes will be emailed back to students before Easter Break for them to use at the Job Fair on March 30th.

Please join us tomorrow for the Parents Association Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, March 7th at 8:30 AM in the Café Royale. This will be a joint meeting with the faculty and staff. Our guest speaker will be Shawna Foster who will give an update from college and academic counseling. We hope to see you there!

Your MCP Royals traveled to San Diego yesterday to play in the quarterfinal round of the CIF State Boys Basketball Championships. They defeated #3 seed Mission Bay 67-57 and are headed to Los Angeles on Saturday to compete against #2 seed Culver City. Tip off is at 7PM. Go Royals!
