The Mission Athletic Fund and Foundation is the new name of the former Boosters; but don't worry. The organization is still committed to athletics and extra curricular activities for both Old Mission School and Mission College Preparatory. Although we are associated with each school, the Mission Athletic Fund and Foundation is a standalone 501(c)(3). In other words, we collect revenue from our membership, sponsors and donors and we allocate those revenues directly to projects, events and needs at each school. We are continually speaking with coaches, athletic directors and other school leaders on what projects we can help, both short and long term projects. In the immediate future, we have identified the projects listed below.

*co-ed weight room - in an effort to make sure that our student athletes are as prepared as possible, the need has been identified for a renovated space, complete with new machines and weights.

*scholarships - the 'Foundation' portion of the organization is always working with the each school to better assess what role we can play, along with our donors, to make educating existing and new students more affordable.

*school spirit -from extra game day gear for athletes to rooter busses for away CIF games, the Athletic Fund wants to be there for the schools! Go Royals! Go Falcons!

The Men's Golf Team concluded their historic season with 3rd Place in the CIF Division II Championship. The team moved to the Mountain League this season and finished with a team record of 400. Congratulations to Luke Montoya (Top 10 Medalist), Augustin Nguyen, Jake Long, and Landon Smith who qualified to compete as individuals at the CIF Central Section Championship to be held at the Rio Bravo Country Club on May 16th. Congratulations and good luck on the next rounds.

Youth ages 10-16 are invited to join Mrs. Vaccaro from MCP & Monart at Mission College Prep High School July 25-29 from 9:00-2:00 for a summer youth art workshop.

Come and Paint on Canvas. We will explore still life, landscape, realistic and non realistic. Enough structure for the project, enough room to make it your own. Grow your portfolio and enjoy your summer days painting in the art studio. All supplies are included. Bring a lunch.

Welcome to the Mission College Prep Summer Slam Skills Camp. Our Staff has created a day camp designed for players entering 4th – 8th grade. This camp is for players who want to take their game to the next level. Mission Prep coaches, athletes, and alumni will be guiding campers through various skill development, fitness, and game simulations/competitions. The camp is designed to challenge/improve work ethic and mental toughness.

Players should expect:
• Variety of skill workouts
• Learning the importance of leadership and fitness
• Competitive games/Challenges
• Camp Awards, special prizes & gear
• Coaches Include: Mission College Prep Coaches, Athletes and Alumni
• Camp T-Shirt

This information has been extended with the understanding that these workouts are structured for enjoyment, improvement and challenge. Players will be divided into according skill group and should not attend if they will miss more than 1 session.
All athletes are welcome. Pride in personal improvement and basketball skills will be the vehicle for being a more disciplined student athlete. These workouts are specifically for those who want to continue to learn and prepare for future basketball events. It gives also gives you a chance to meet and compete against new people. Additionally a goal of our camp is to improve an athletes overall skill sets in communication while continuing to focus on positive work ethic.

Today, MCP's Easton Weir is making MCP Men's Tennis history by winning his first round match in at the CIF Central Section Individual Tournament. Plus... the team swept Golden Valley 6-0 in singles with a total game score of 72-19. MCP has advanced to the CIF Division IV Finals for the 3rd time in four years and will play on Tuesday, May 10th. Great job Royals!!!

Please join us for the last Parents Association Monthly Meeting on Friday, May 6th in the Café starting at 8:00 AM. We will be discussing all of the end of the year activities and celebrating our graduating senior parents. Please look for an email with the agenda and more information.

After a two year gap, MCP's Troupe 7903 of the International Thespian Society attended the California State Thespian Festival in Upland for the seventh time this past weekend. Eleven student delegates and three adult chaperones joined students from 37 high schools around the state, to spend three days celebrating excellence in high school theatre. Students prepared pieces for professional adjudication, attended various theatre workshops, and watched performances representing the best in the state. Delegates from MCP at the festival this year were: Thomas Beaudin, Curran Bojorquez, Evan Collier, Lieschen Erikson, Taylor LaFolette, Lunabella Levin, Sophie O'Quest, Eleanor Selby, Beau Sweeney Jr., Elia Vander Horst, and Victoria Hoffman.

Several Mission students received special recognition during the festival:
• Thomas Beaudin was chosen as a member of the All-State Technical crew for Lighting
• Lunabella Levin received a Superior Rating for her performance in the Solo Acting event
• Sophie O'Quest was awarded the Senior Scholarship in Technical Theatre & Design

Thank you to our sophomore students and families for hosting People's Kitchen this past Saturday. Your support of those in our community who are in need is inspirational.

MCP will be hosting the annual Job Fair on Tuesday, April 26th in the gym during Flex. Students will have the opportunity to interview for summer jobs, internships and volunteer opportunities. Students can sign up to interview via the Job Fair link next week in Canvas.
